Center for Aquatics at Government Station

The Center for Aquatics at Government Station aimed to create a steel structure which would enclose a pool complex. Challenged to build a light and airy structure that did not require the use of air conditioning, this building employs a system of copper louvers with varying size holes that can open or close depending on the amount of sunlight coming through. Having the structure run the length of the project allows for a separation of spaces while maintaining a large area free of columns for the pool. Set in the center of downtown Miami, this project aimed to serve the community.
